Brethren, As I prepare this Trestleboard, I am pausing to reflect that it will be my last Trestleboard as Worshipful Master of this lodge (at least for the foreseeable future). We are now in the last quarter of my second year in the East. I am struck by how many things that we have accomplished over the last few years for our lodge. It could not have been accomplished without the hard work and dedication of all of the brothers who have been infinitely supportive of lodge projects, programs and the ritual work. To all of you, I give a hearty thanks. I give a personal thanks to those who have been especially helpful in giving me personal advice in all the areas of lodge and life. Many of our more senior members have been particularly thoughtful and have been very inspirational. To the officers of 2008 and 2009, I thank you for your assistance throughout these two years. Your enthusiasm is great. It has made all of the work worth while. I hope that I can lend as much support in the coming years as you each journey to the East. We have a very busy Fall planned. As you can see from the calendar, we will have two Fellowcraft degrees in October. We will have a special meeting on Monday, October 26, 2009 which will feature a joint F.C. degree with our brothers from Friendship Lodge No. 33 (Southington, CT.). They will be visiting our lodge that evening. We had a wonderful evening as their gusts on May 18th. I sincerely hope that they have a wonderful time in their visit. We are planning a dinner before the work of the evening, so please plan to arrive early. As always, if you know of a man who could benefit from the brotherhood of this fraternity, please refer him to Wyllys-St. John’s Lodge No. 4. I wish you and your families a nice holiday season and look forward to seeing you in lodge soon. Fraternally,
